All is Well: If the Republicans want to go negative, fine. I can too.

SO. I've been watching some RNC coverage, and I have to say it's a stark contrast from the DNC. John McCain last night was trying to blame both parties for making government worse, while forgetting he was a member of the majority for 6 years of it. 9/11 Rudy said that Obama doesn't talk enough about 9/11...surprise surprise....and Mr. Romney accused us all of being part of "Liberal Washington". I would like to sit down with that man and find out exactly what has been so liberal about these past eight years....Oh, and that Palin...grrr...her accusations of the liberal press and how she stands up to big interest...bald faced lies. No other way to say it. She is a liar.

As you can see my back is a little up and there's some vinegar in my blood. Labor Day weekend was spent with a very good friend of mine in the service, and after a few beers and watching Obama's speech, he actually requested the following work. So here you go. The guy that brought you the first Obama-Biden full ticket wallpaper is the guy bringing you the first real Anti-McCain wallpaper. I found this image (which is sweet..and so is the post), but it's not wallpaper, and it's not at 300dpi.

Without further fanfare or grumping:

Full sized .PSD HERE

I encourage people to play around with the .PSD file to make changes/improvements. Every time I came back to this piece I was always changing things, colors, composition, background, etc... Basically I think I've got something respectable here, but I don't think this is a carved in stone piece like some of my others. (while I encourage people to tinker and prove me wrong) I don't think "Classic Obama" could actually be changed much to improve it. This piece I think could have many variants that are just as good or better. In fact, I even asked Reddit for help with the Font...I love Reddit. Everyone has an online community that they haunt. I'm always on Reddit.

About the process:
Our Fearless Leader's (Senator McCain's) head is actually 3 different photoshop brushes that I created and used. I can give those to people in a zip file if they want, I just am too lazy to host the files.

The original picture came from a google search, but I can't seem to find it again. Oh well, I'll upload it:

There he is looking properly authoritarian. The whole intent of the project. Anyway, yeah. I turned Mr. Smiles into a brush, tried to find some good Soviet Stalinism art references and got to work piecing it all together, check out the PSD file for the details. I have to admit, as a student, and a student that is still learning styles...I'm not entirely familiar with the style that I used, and honestly, I may have gotten it wrong. It's one of the many reasons I encourage other people to tinker with my projects.

The pic of the soldiers was the third hit on Google Image Search, and easy to find, check it:

>I made this into a brush as well using the image from the powerline and above. Most of this working process was fitting the elements together till they worked right. I've got some brushes that do some really great grunge feels so I threw that on top for a little extra noise as well.

That's about it. Right now the Internet is very empty of Anti-McCain work of quality. I really encourage those that are good at Photoshop to go to town. After the 2000 power grab by the Supreme Court, the 2004 smears of John Kerry, accusations that Obama is a Muslim, that he would lose a war to win an election, that Michelle is unamerican, or that he is less experienced than Sara Palin... well... I think the Republican party has defined the tone of this election, and I'm no sissy liberal that won't fight back. I hope others do to.

Remember, Country First.

i like your stuff, but not a fan of going negative. that's not what the obama campaign is about. leave that to the short sighted republicans.
